GinCanDo on Summer Tour 2020
It isn’t the size of the boat; it is the motion of the ocean that matters. Since the Northwestern part of Jutland where our fourth distillery stop is located – in general is very wealthy of windy weather and gigantic waves, then a dinghy and a lot of enthusiasm must be sufficient for manufacturing a prize-winning gin from this part of Denmark. Tranum Mølle Destilleri has in the remains of an old and decommissioned windmill succeeded to establish a ‘hyggeligt’ (cozy) micro-distillery -that actually has managed to manufacture a gin line of six gins that since the beginning has won prizes from many distant regions of the world.
When the winds of changes blow, some people build walls – and other re-build a windmill. Luckily Tranum Mølle Distilleri did the last thing and modified their mill to a distillery. Thanks Ulrik and Hanne for opening the gate to your mill and letting us taste all your wonderful gins– and not at least proving that it isn’t just the size of the still pot that matters.
